Benue PDP Takes Serious Action: Former Governor Ortom Suspended

In a significant development, the Benue State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially suspended former Governor Samuel Ortom and three other members on grounds of engaging in activities against the party’s interests.

This decision was endorsed during an urgent meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi, where the State Executive Committee, consisting of the State Working Committee, state assistant officials, and party chairmen from local government areas, solidified the suspension of Ortom and his companions.

Furthermore, a vote of confidence was also passed in favor of the State Working Committee, which is currently under the leadership of John Ngbede.

Sources reveal that the news of Ortom’s suspension was met with approval from a broad spectrum of party members within the state.

Reports suggest that Ortom’s public endorsement of a competing political party resulted in his party’s defeat during the recent general election.

Ortom, a prominent figure among the G5 governors in the country, had instructed his followers to cast their votes for the Labour Party across all election categories.
