Benue APC Executives Removed by Party’s NWC

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State was dismissed by the National Working Committee, NWC, on Wednesday.

Despite a Benue State High Court order restraining the party from dissolving the Augustine Agada-led working committee, the NWC decided to remove the executives.

During a press briefing at the party’s national secretariat, the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, announced the dissolution and the inauguration of a seven-member caretaker committee.

The members of the newly formed caretaker committee include Benjamin Omale as chairman, Prof. Ben Angwe as secretary, and other members Richard Mzungweve, James Omguga, Terhemen Ngbea, Helen Agaigbe, and Ali Adah.

In his statement, Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity within the party, addressing issues like factions, litigations, and counter-litigations in the state.

He stated, “The party is an institution that must be united. To address the current issues, the National Working Committee has decided to dissolve the Executive Committee in accordance with our constitution.”

Furthermore, he mentioned, “Additionally, a seven-man Caretaker Committee has been appointed to manage the party’s affairs for the next six months. This is crucial as the party is responsible for certifying the candidacy of contestants in the upcoming local government elections.”

Ganduje urged the members to foster unity, engage in dialogue with key stakeholders, and collaborate effectively for the party’s growth and success.
