A call has been made by Bastion Health for actuaries to promote transparency and encourage collaboration within the insurance and pension sectors to drive growth.

During the National Risk Compendium program at the University of Lagos, Managing Director of Bastion Health, Naomi Aduku, revealed this in a statement issued to our reporter.

Bastion Health is a Nigerian HMO focused on enhancing healthcare accessibility through its range of healthcare insurance solutions.

The event, centered on the theme “Transparency and Clarity in Insurance Policies: Navigating Risk Through Clear Policies, Claims, and Actuarial Expertise,” aimed at bridging the gap between the risk management industry and emerging talents.

Aduku emphasized the importance of transparency in the financial services sector, particularly within insurance and pension management, to drive sectoral growth.

Highlighting the significance of actuaries in the insurance business, she mentioned, “In our pursuit of enhancing healthcare accessibility and affordability through health insurance, it is crucial to define market segments, customize products for specific target audiences, and establish appropriate pricing and product specifications for each segment.”

Aduku reaffirmed Bastion Health’s dedication to its goal of making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable for the Nigerian populace.

“We are committed to bridging the academia-industry gap by offering students valuable insights, support, and motivation that can positively impact their academic and professional development,” Aduku further stated.
