During the UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday, Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi discusses his strategy in preventing Victor Osimhen from scoring.
The LaLiga champions secured a 3-1 victory against Napoli, earning a spot in the quarter-finals.
It was Cubarsi’s Champions League debut against the Partenopei, where he successfully contained Osimhen throughout the game.
With a well-timed tackle early in the match, the 17-year-old halted Osimhen’s goal attempt.
Additionally, the defender thwarted any dangerous opportunities for Osimhen to capitalize on a cut-back from Zambo Anguissa.
Osimhen only managed one shot on target during the entire game.
Reflecting on his performance, the youngster mentioned, “Xavi (Barcelona coach) provided me with specific instructions to neutralize Osimhen.”
Following the match, Cubarsi received the Man of the Match award.
