The village of Zamfara suffered a tragedy as bandits killed 21 people and injured 12 others. The attacks took place in Maru and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas. According to Mohammed Shehu, the spokesperson of the state police command, the incidents occurred in several villages between June 2nd and 3rd, 2020.
The bandits targeted the villages with the intention of stealing cows, leading to confrontations with the local militia group known as “YAN SAKAI.” This resulted in the death of 15 people and left 7 others injured. Additionally, in a separate attack in Talata Mafara Local Government, 6 people were killed and 5 were injured.
The spokesperson confirmed that an investigation has been initiated to capture the perpetrators of these tragic events.
