Bandits demand food items, N290m to release seven hostages abducted in Kuduru

The seven hostages abducted in Kuduru have been asked for N290 million and vital supplies for their release. The victims, including a pregnant woman and three children, were taken captive on January 28 and have been held for over a month. The bandits threatened to kill two of the hostages if the ransom is not paid promptly. In addition to the monetary demand, the abductors also requested food items, drugs, bedsheets, and cardigans.

A community leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed the situation and pleaded for the intervention of law enforcement authorities. The hostages’ health is deteriorating due to the harsh conditions of their captivity.

The plea was directed at the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of Army Staff, urging them to facilitate the rescue of the hostages. The community leader acknowledged the efforts being made but emphasized the urgency of the situation.
