ASUU begin indefinite strike

The ASUU has initiated an indefinite strike from Monday March 23rd. Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, the union’s president, made the announcement during a press conference at its National Secretariat in Abuja, stating that the strike is a result of the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement and the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System. ASUU had previously declared a two-week warning strike on March 9, 2020.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has declared an indefinite strike beginning from today Monday March 23rd.

 

The union’s president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, who announced this at a press conference at its National Secretariat Abuja, said the strike is over the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement. He noted that the government failed to address the issues raised.

 

Recall that ASUU had on Monday, March 9, 2020, declared a two-week warning strike.
