Assurance of Good Governance by Governor Adeleke to Protesters

Ensuring the protesters of EndBadGovernance, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his dedication to the consistent delivery of effective governance.

Expressing his contentment and solidarity with the peaceful demonstrations happening in the state, Governor Adeleke acknowledged the peaceful nature of the protest.

It is noted that Osun State has joined the nationwide EndBadGovernance protests that commenced on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

The ongoing protest, now on its fifth day, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Commending the level of patriotism exhibited by the organizers, Governor Adeleke, in a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, expressed his joy at the resistance to attempts by malicious forces to exploit the protest for personal gains.

In his statement, he mentioned, “We have been informed of the consistent adherence to peaceful demonstrations by the organizers, even in the face of pressure from different sources. I have been briefed on the organizers’ refusal to yield to malevolent political forces aiming to disrupt the peace of the state. I applaud their commitment to maintaining peace and expressing their views peacefully regarding the nation’s current state.”

“I urge them to continue upholding peace. We will duly consider all their submissions. We will address issues within our jurisdiction as a state government and escalate others to Mr. President in Abuja. While Mr. President is diligently working at the national level, we are complementing his efforts as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

“We are intensifying our efforts to fulfill the desires and hopes of our people. Within the government, we empathize with the challenges faced by our people and are dedicated to providing relief and improving livelihoods.”

“I have once again convened a meeting with the team overseeing the food security implementation committee. We are focused on expanding food supply, enhancing support for farmers, stabilizing food prices, improving food accessibility, and introducing tractorization.”

Showing appreciation to the security service commanders for their contributions in maintaining peace in Osun, Adeleke praised the security agencies and all stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in ensuring enduring peace in the state.
