According to the group, Timaya’s latest song ‘Dey Your Dey’ allegedly sampled their song of the same title without consent. The group’s leader addressed Timaya in a video message shared on their TikTok page, urging the singer to cease appropriating their intellectual properties. He expressed disappointment over Timaya previously sampling another of their songs titled ‘As E Dey Sweet Us, E Dey Pain Dem’ without permission. Timaya has not yet responded to the allegations.
A tweet by a user named TUNDE criticized plagiarism and urged Timaya to refrain from such acts, suggesting that if the singer cannot write his own songs, he should consider hiring songwriters. Timaya has not issued any statement regarding the accusations.
