Argentina vs Morocco at 2024 Olympics: Controversial VAR Decision Causes Game Restart after 2 Hours

Witnessing some intense VAR drama, the Olympic men’s football match between Argentina and Morocco had to be recommenced nearly two hours after its original conclusion in Saint-Etienne.

The match seemed to have wrapped up with a 2-2 scoreline.

In the 16th minute of added time, Cristian Medina believed he had secured a draw for Argentina.

However, despite a pitch invasion post the goal, VAR intervened, ultimately disallowing Medina’s goal due to an offside call, after a prolonged delay.

Resuming play for just three minutes before the final whistle blew, Morocco emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.
