Archbishop Onuagha: Ndigbo’s Endurance surpasses any cause for protest

Rt Rev. Biereonwu Livinus Onuagha, the Methodist Archbishop of Okigwe Archdiocese, believes Igbos have no reason to protest.

Characterizing Nigeria as a deeply divided nation with a lack of strong leadership, Onuagha asserts that protests in Nigeria are futile due to its lack of unity.

He warns that any protest movement would be manipulated along the way, resulting in blame being shifted onto the Igbos.

Encouraging all Igbo individuals to remain at home, he emphasized that there is no legitimate cause for protest.

According to the cleric, the mistreatment of Ndigbo has been so severe that there is no further grievance for them to address through protest.

He questions why there is a need for protest when the Igbo community has been subjected to various forms of oppression in the past, including marginalization and infrastructure disparities.

Onuagha highlights the unequal distribution of states and the neglect of vital infrastructure like the rail system in Igbo regions.

He affirms the resilience of the Igbo people, stating that they have historically thrived without depending on the Nigerian government.

Concluding his remarks, he advises against protesting and suggests that everyone should remain at home to observe the outcome of any potential protests.
