Appointment of New Commandant for Zamfara Security Outfit by Governor Lawal

Major Maikano Adamu (rtd) has been appointed as the Acting Commandant of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG) by Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, with immediate effect.

Following the suspension of Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (rtd), the former CPG Commandant by the state government, Adamu’s appointment was announced.

Yandoto’s suspension came after he criticized the state government for allegedly not providing sufficient funding for the outfit, as reported by NewsNow on Thursday.

In a statement released on Thursday by the State Commissioner for Information, Munnir Haidara, it was clarified that Adamu’s appointment as the acting commandant was a response to recent developments.

Major Maikano Adamu previously served as the Deputy Commandant of the CPG before assuming his new role.
