APC Leaders Warn Against Turning South West into Zone of Conflict

Calling for caution, the Southwest Executive Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the public not to transform the region into a battlefield. They expressed optimism that the current challenges facing Nigeria will soon pave the way for a better quality of life for all citizens.

During an urgent gathering of the party’s zonal executive committee in Akure, Ondo State, the APC leaders emphasized the need for patience with the current government.

In a statement issued by National Vice Chairman Isaac Kekemeke and South West Chairman Vincent Bewaji, the party implored residents of the South West, both locally and internationally, to resist any attempts to turn the region into a hub of violence or criminal activities through aggressive demonstrations.

They appealed to Nigerians to endure what they described as temporary hardships and challenges with fortitude, assuring them that these difficulties will soon be replaced by a more prosperous life for all citizens.

According to the communique: “The party in the zone acknowledges that every Nigerian has the right, as provided in our constitution, to engage in peaceful protests and voice their opinions on government programs.

“The party in the zone acknowledges the significant strides already taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to steer Nigeria towards a new socio-economic path, ultimately aiming for progress and prosperity for all Nigerians.”
