APC Condemns Assault on Zamfara Secretariat during Nationwide Protest

In response to Monday’s attack on its state secretariat by troublemakers participating in the nationwide hunger protest in Zamfara State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has issued a statement condemning the incident. The statement was released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, and shared with the media in Gusau, the state capital.

Earlier, the APC had warned the PDP-led state government against allowing PDP thugs to target the APC and its leaders in the wake of an attack on Senator Sahabi Ya’u’s residence in Kaura Namoda and an attempted attack on the former governor and current minister, Matawalle, in Gusau.

Denouncing the recent attack on the APC secretariat, the statement emphasized the need for the state government and security agencies to ensure the safety of people and their possessions. The perpetrators forcibly entered the APC Secretariat located on Sokoto Bye Pass Road in Gusau, causing extensive damage to the premises by destroying glass windows, doors, furniture, and equipment. They also stole various items, including furniture, computers, refrigerators, and building materials stored in the office premises.

The APC strongly condemned these actions, labeling them as unacceptable and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the vandalism. While reaffirming the commitment of its members, supporters, and well-wishers to peace and obedience to the law, the party cautioned against mistaking their peaceful nature for weakness.
