Ancelotti’s Decision to Replace Bellingham in the UCL Match Against Bayern Munich

Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, provided insight into his choice to take Jude Bellingham off the field during their recent 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Bellingham was substituted with Luka Modric in the 75th minute at the Allianz Arena.

Despite Real Madrid’s efforts to level the score after Leroy Sane and Harry Kane responded to Vinicius Jr’s early goal, Bellingham’s departure occurred while they were still behind.

Even though Bellingham’s absence was significant considering his 21 goals and 10 assists in 36 matches this season, Ancelotti explained that the player had been struggling physically for about an hour.

During an interview, Ancelotti commented, “Tonight, Jude Bellingham was not performing at his usual high standard, similar to the entire team.”

He added, “Bellingham started experiencing cramps after 60 minutes, which led to my decision to substitute him.”
