An Israeli airstrike in Southern Beirut causes damage to buildings

Reports indicate that an Israeli airstrike targeted Southern Beirut on Tuesday evening, resulting in damage to several buildings. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene of the incident.

According to information from Reuters, the primary target of the strike was believed to be a senior Hezbollah commander. However, there have been no reports of casualties thus far.

Video footage shared online depicted thick smoke and a building facade collapsing as a result of the strike.

Emergency responders were promptly mobilized to the affected area in Haret Hreik, located in southern Beirut within Dahiyeh. This particular area is known for its significant Hezbollah presence and is a dwelling place for Lebanon’s Shia community as well as various migrant populations.

In another development, authorities in Gaza reported the discovery of 22 Palestinian bodies in the eastern sectors of Khan Younis following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region after an extended military offensive.

Additional Israeli shelling incidents were documented in Gaza City and in the vicinity of Bureij camp in central Gaza, as well as to the north of Rafah.
