An Announcement from Victor Giadom to INEC, as Acting National Chairman of APC

Victor Giadom, the individual who secured a court order supporting his position as the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has conveyed a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), introducing himself as the acting chairman of the ruling party.

Although a separate high court in Rivers state has prohibited Giadom from representing himself as the chairman of the APC, he has informed INEC in a letter dated June 18 to direct all processes and documents related to APC elections and other correspondences to him.

The letter stated:

“I wish to formally notify you that I have been appointed as the acting National Chairman of the APC. A copy of the order of the FCT High Court, Abuja confirming my authority as the acting national chairman of the APC is enclosed herewith.

“Kindly note the earlier decision of the FCT High Court to suspend Comrade Adams Oshiomhole from office on March 4, 2020, as upheld by the Court of Appeal, Abuja on June 16, 2020. Mr. Oshiomhole’s appeals were dismissed on that date. Copies of the court orders in these two cases are enclosed for your reference.

“In my capacity as the acting national chairman of the party, all processes, documents, and communications, including those related to the conduct of APC elections, are to be directed to me.”
