Richard Tasie, also known as Richie Smile, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and performing artist. He hails from Ibaa Town in Rivers State, Nigeria, and was born in Enugu. He was raised in Port Harcourt, where he completed his primary, secondary, and university education. In pursuit of his dance and music dreams, Richie moved to Lagos and established himself as a prominent video dance artist in the industry. After a few years, he relocated to the United States, where he obtained certifications in Database Management and Administration.
His debut EP, “Far Away,” serves to cement his position as a musical artist with a substantial body of work. The EP features a diverse collection of dancehall, afrobeat, and pop tracks including “Far Away,” “I Like It,” “Jeje,” and “Bend Down.” The content has been lauded for embodying the essence of the new wave of afrobeat music.
