Amazing Story of Travellers Defeating Bandits and Capturing AK-47 Rifles in Zamfara

During a journey in Zamfara State, a bandit met his end at the hands of a brave family and a group of passengers who foiled a kidnapping attempt.

As the family of a bride-to-be and other travellers made their way along the Talata Mafara-Gusau highway, they were ambushed by bandit terrorists.

The family, originally bound for Kano to shop for wedding attire, found themselves in a terrifying situation when armed bandits targeted them.

Upon being singled out by the bandits, the passengers sprang into action, managing to apprehend two AK-47 rifles even though one of the bandits managed to evade capture.

Recounting the incident, a source mentioned that gunfire rang out near the Fangal Tama checkpoint, startling the travellers. Soon, they encountered two heavily armed bandits on motorcycles blocking the road and stopping vehicles.

With guns pointed at them, the bandits instructed the young woman (the bride-to-be), her father, mother, and two other relatives to exit their vehicle before leading them into the nearby forest, instilling fear in the family.

Realizing the grave danger of forced abduction, the passengers rallied together and launched a swift attack on one of the bandits, resulting in his demise while the other bandit fled, abandoning his firearm which they handed over to the military at a nearby checkpoint.

Regrettably, one passenger suffered a heart attack from the traumatic experience and passed away in the hospital.
