Reports indicate that a three-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her father in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The story was shared online by Gender Rights activist, Karimot Odebode, who stated that the mother of the victim became suspicious of her husband’s behavior on June 3. She then took precautions and instructed her younger sister, who lived with them, to always ensure her children were under her care when she wasn’t present.
Despite these precautions, there came a day when the younger sister left the kids in her room and went to the bathroom. Upon her return, she found the little girl coming out of her parents’ bedroom. The victim’s mother was notified and upon inspection, she discovered her daughter’s private parts were red, open, and emitting a foul smell. The girl later demonstrated how her father had allegedly assaulted her.
The husband was initially arrested by NSCDC officials but was later released. Karimot also mentioned that the victim’s mother is reportedly facing threats.
