Allegations of Irregularities in Ondo APC Governorship Primary Process

During the Ondo All Progressives Congress governorship primary overseen by a seven-member committee chaired by Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, tension arose with aspirant Gbenga Edema over the distribution of election materials. Edema criticized Ododo for distributing materials to various wards in the state, contrary to the announced schedule by the committee’s secretary Ovie Omo-Agege.

Ododo defended the committee’s actions, stating that materials had been sent to both the North and South senatorial districts of the state.

Another aspirant, Adedayo Faduyile from Okitipupa Local Government Area, also raised concerns about the election process, alleging a lack of adherence to due process. He described instances where votes were being counted without the presence of electoral materials as accreditation was scheduled to begin at 10 am.

Faduyile further claimed that no electoral materials had been received in several local government areas, and accused officials of manipulating results in favor of a particular candidate without conducting proper elections.
