Allegation of Conspiracy to Attack Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo Tribe: Activist Warns Against Violence on Non-Yorubas

Raising concerns over a purported scheme to target non-Yorubas in Lagos State, human rights activist and organizer of Apostolic Roundtable, Bolaji O. Akinyemi, has sounded the alarm.

Akinyemi claimed that the alleged plan involves singling out Igbos amidst the ongoing nationwide protest under the #EndBadGovernance campaign.

Urging individuals not indigenous to Lagos to participate in a sit-at-home protest during the demonstrations, the activist expressed apprehensions that hired thugs could be gearing up to unleash violence on innocent non-Yoruba residents in the city.

He attributed the current tumultuous state of the nation to an insatiable pursuit for power by an individual, symbolized by the “Emilokan” mantra.

Delivering this message in Enugu on a Wednesday evening, the Yoruba clergyman stated, “In the context of the largest country on the continent, a lion has taken on the traits of a tortoise and introduced the Emilokan dance, marketing it as ‘awa lokan’ to his ethnic group.”

Part of his declaration reads, “Nevertheless, voices of dissent emerge from their hiding places, dissuading young people from protesting and subsequently issuing threats to non-indigenes in ‘a o merin joba land.’

“The existing cracks in the national foundation are being overlooked, leading to the deterioration of the structure that could entomb us all.

“Reconfiguring our federal system by setting aside the 1963 CFRN and incorporating the revisions from the 2014 Conference was a timely repair intended to salvage the present, but it was disregarded! The rifts in our societal fabric have widened. Will prompt action on #EndBadGovernance prevent a larger disaster?”

He further emphasized that President Bola Tinubu could have alleviated the crisis by promptly aligning the 1963 Constitution with the recommendations of the 2014 Constitution Review Conference initiated by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He remarked, “Could the enigmatic and crafty BAT take steps to harmonize the 1963 Constitution with the 2014 Conference suggestions to breathe new life into Nigeria? The youths are not demanding an end to the government, but rather an end to bad governance.

“If the suppression of #EndBadGovernance is successful, the transition to ‘end bad government’ could be the inevitable outcome of the government’s failure to address the issues at hand.

“Evidence regarding this upcoming protest is alarming. I can sense from the streets the resolve of the Ewe Ku Ewele tribe to collaborate with the tribe upstream to antagonize the Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo tribe.

“To save lives by granting Nigeria, instead of our inept leader, one last chance to endure, I implore all associates of the leader to implore him to put an end to bad governance!

“I recommend a sit-at-home protest to all parents and youths. Through a ‘sit-at-home’ demonstration, we are likely to achieve the same outcome.”
