Alert from Police: ‘One-Chance’ Robbery Gang Operating on Ogun Road

Residents of Ogun State have been warned by the Police Command about a group of one-chance robbers who are active along the Sagamu, Ijebu Ode to Mowe expressway.

In a statement shared on her X handle, the spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, highlighted the issue on Thursday.

Odutola mentioned that the command had received several complaints from the public, one of which involved a victim who was held at gunpoint and robbed of N700,000 after entering a vehicle from Kajola on Wednesday.

With a caution to traders and business owners against carrying large sums of cash while traveling, the spokesperson advised commuters to capture and share videos with the police if they have doubts about a specific vehicle.

Odutola stated, “The Ogun State Police Command is receiving numerous reports about a gang known for criminal activities in the areas of Sagamu, Ijebu Ode to Mowe.

“If you are uncertain about a vehicle while traveling on that route, make a video of your journey and submit it to the police authorities.

“We urge traders and business owners to avoid traveling with substantial amounts of cash. Just today, a victim lost 700k after boarding a vehicle from Kajola and being forced at gunpoint to make a transfer via a POS machine in a secluded street. The investigation is currently ongoing.”
