Alarm raised by Nasarawa government over potential plan to incite violence

Alleged plans to disrupt peace and provoke chaos in Nasarawa State have recently been brought to light by the state government.

Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, released a statement indicating that security agencies had uncovered the plot.

The scheme reportedly involves targeting influential figures in the state, with their aides potentially falling victim to the syndicate’s agenda.

According to the statement, “Information received by the State Government suggests that while the syndicate’s primary targets are prominent individuals in the state, individuals in proximity to these personalities and other unsuspecting citizens may also be at risk of being targeted by these criminal elements.”

Citizens have been urged by the state government to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or unknown individuals to the appropriate security authorities.

The statement highlighted collaborative efforts between the Nasarawa State Government and various security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Department of State Security Service (DSS), Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to apprehend the members and backers of the syndicate.

Security agencies have proactively worked to thwart the plans of the syndicate and other criminal elements. Citizens have been advised to remain calm, conduct their lawful activities, and promptly alert authorities to any suspicious behavior or persons.

Additionally, citizens have been cautioned to be on the lookout for two fair-skinned, medium-height women often dressed entirely in black attire.

The commitment of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration was reiterated in upholding the welfare of the populace through the continued implementation of growth-oriented policies and programs.

“Governor Abdullahi A. Sule remains dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of our citizens and is unwavering in his efforts to deliver on this promise,” the statement concluded.
