Alabama Family Arrested for Allegedly Locking Children in Wooden Cages

                 

Police in Alabama arrested a mother, grandmother, and grandfather for reportedly locking children in cages as part of an investigation into possible abuse in their home.

Arrested individuals include Pamela Deloris Bond, 66; James H. Bond, 69, and Kylla Michelle Mann, 30, detained by a team of law enforcement led by Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones.

The county sheriff’s office shared a photo showing a wooden crib-shaped cage with a mattress and blanket, suspected to have been used by the children.

During their presence at the property, authorities also found another cage with locks, leading them to believe the children had been confined in the cage on multiple occasions.

The suspects face charges including two counts of aggravated abuse of a child under 6 years old and two counts of reckless endangerment. 

Pamela Bond also faces a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

All five children taken from the house have been placed in the custody of the state Department of Human Resources.
