In a recent development, the Akwa-Ibom State Government has disclosed that the police are currently pursuing individuals suspected of hacking into the WhatsApp number of Governor Umo Eno.
The statement released by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udon, on Wednesday revealed that law enforcement authorities have been informed and are actively pursuing the perpetrators behind this unlawful activity.
It has come to the government’s attention that there are deceptive posts circulating on various social media platforms, where certain fraudulent individuals have cloned the Governor of Akwa Ibom State’s WhatsApp number in an attempt to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
Udon reiterated, “The public is hereby advised to disregard any messages soliciting funds from these imposters, as they are not endorsed by the Governor.”
