A notable group of individuals accompanied Air Peace’s Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, on the inaugural direct flight from Lagos to London on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
Taking off from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the historic flight landed at London’s Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom.
A video shared online captured the moment Air Peace’s Boeing 777 aircraft touched down in London, marking a significant milestone for the airline.
Upon arrival, the Nigerian community in the UK and officials from The Nigerian High Commission UK, under the leadership of Ambassador Sarafa Isola, warmly greeted the passengers.
Among the esteemed individuals on board the inaugural flight were Allen Onyema and his wife, Alice; Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines; Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development; Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana; Olumide Apata, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, and others.
Notable Nollywood personalities such as Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha, Ufuoma McDermott, and Omoni Oboli were also among the passengers. A video shared online showed the friends enjoying their time on the plane.
Expressing pride in this significant achievement, Air Peace made an announcement on its official handle regarding the successful launch of the London service. The post stated, “Our London service is now operational, and we are thrilled to have reached another milestone in our mission to provide peaceful connectivity across cities. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to the success of this launch.”
