After a 3-2 Victory, Arsenal’s Star Receives Praise from Ian Wright

Ben White, the defender for Arsenal, is being applauded by the Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, for his role in disrupting Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, during two corner-kicks in Sunday’s match where Arsenal secured a 3-2 win.

On April 28th, White played a crucial part in two of Arsenal’s goals by attempting to distract Vicario in every one of Arsenal’s set-piece plays.

At one point, he even tried to unsettle the Italian goalkeeper by interfering with his gloves, which has garnered him some admiration.

During an episode of the Wrighty’s House podcast, Wright commented, “Ben White’s clever tactics were remarkable. He is a strategic provocateur, that’s how I see it.

“The way Vicario reacted was absolutely brilliant; he immediately escalated to a high level of frustration simply because White was trying to unsettle him. Vicario was visibly furious!

“Ben White is a tactician in these matters. With only three games remaining, it should be expected that Ben White will continue to bother the opposition goalkeeper.

“For Tottenham to concede two goals without anyone marking our provocateur is a sign of weakness. It’s a lapse from Tottenham, and it definitely had consequences for them.”

White, who has participated in 48 matches this season, will be gearing up for his next game with Arsenal, which is against Bournemouth on May 4th.
