AFRD: Our members still living in rented houses in Yobe – Nigerian Legion laments

The Nigerian Legion in Yobe State has raised concerns about the lack of housing for many of its members, despite their 35 years of service to the nation. In an interview with journalists after observing the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Damaturu, Chairman of the Branch, Captain Ibrahim Ladi Gadine, Rtd, highlighted the impact of inflation on the purchasing power of retired servicemen and women with meager pensions.

Gadine expressed that the challenges faced by the members include inadequate shelter, with many still living in rented houses. He also mentioned the burden of rising costs of goods and services, as well as the difficulties in providing for their children and grandchildren with the limited pensions. He called on governments and the public, especially philanthropists, to support the Nigerian Legion members.
