Ademola Lookman: Optimistic about Super Eagles’ Performance

Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles forward, noted that the team’s performance has been improving with each match at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Following their 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the Round of 16 clash, Lookman, who scored a brace during the game, expressed his belief that the Eagles are on track for success in the tournament.

Named TotalEnergies Man of the Match, Lookman attributed the win to the collective effort of the team.

He stated, “Wow, we’re so happy to qualify for the quarter-finals. The more we play together, the more fluid we become. I’m standing here now but this award reflects the whole team’s performance,” after the victory against Cameroon.

Lookman also praised the support from the Nigerian fans in the stands for motivating the team to secure a win against Cameroon.

“I love this atmosphere, it’s incredible. Tonight our fans pushed us to the end because this was Cameroon, and when you wear the Super Eagles shirt, some games resonate more than others,” he commented.

He emphasized that all attention would now be focused on the upcoming game against Angola on Friday in Abidjan.

“Angola are a good team. We’ll analyze them and prepare. The further you go, the tougher it gets. So, we’ll take it game by game,” he added.
