Addressing Insecurity through Technological Solutions

During a visit to the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Abubakar, in Abuja, the CDS emphasized the importance of leveraging technology.

The Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

A snippet from the statement reads, “On May 2, 2024, General Christopher Musa continued his collaborative efforts by visiting the National Intelligence Agency Headquarters. The visit aimed to enhance coordination in tackling the prevailing security issues in the nation.

“Commending Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director General of NIA, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to national service, General Musa expressed gratitude for the agency’s invaluable support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He urged the adoption of cutting-edge technology for combating criminal activities effectively.”

Fostering collaboration to combat insecurity is paramount.

Musa emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork, affirming the readiness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to collaborate for the nation’s greater good. He stressed the necessity of confronting security challenges with determination, underscoring the role of fairness, good governance, and related factors in safeguarding national security.”

He mentioned, “Welcoming General Musa and his delegation, Ambassador Abubakar underscored the paramount importance of teamwork and cooperation in advancing national interests.

“Reiterating the agency’s mandate to protect the country’s interests, he emphasized the need for collaboration among security agencies. Ambassador Abubakar recognized the challenges faced by security agencies but urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to their duties,” stated the release.
