Adamawa Councillor, previously wanted for cattle rustling, surrenders to police

The councillor representing Vulpi Ward, Makana Ngari, who had been declared wanted for alleged involvement in cattle rustling and other activities that violated his oath of office, has turned himself in to the police.

The state’s police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed on Thursday, May 14, that Ngari has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

“The Adamawa State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the Councillor representing Vulpi Ward in Numan Local Government Area has submitted himself to police.

“The Councillor was earlier declared wanted by the Adamawa State Government, following allegations of taking part in criminal activities.

“He submitted Himself to police in Numan and had since been moved to State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation.”

Residents of Numan have been urged to remain calm and peaceful as the police are already conducting an investigation.
