Adam Schiff, House Impeachment Manager, Reacts to Mitt Romney’s Vote Against Trump’s Acquittal

Following the final impeachment vote in the senate on Wednesday, House Impeachment manager Adam Schiff, who also led the House Intelligence committee’s effort in bringing forth impeachment articles against the US President, responded to Republican senator Mitt Romney’s vote against Trump.

Donald Trump has been acquitted by the US senate on the charges of obstruction of congress and abuse of power, brought by the House of Representatives.

The Republican majority senate, with the exception of Mitt Romney, voted against impeaching the president, bringing the impeachment trial to an end but denying Trump the talking point that the impeachment was ‘partisan’.

Mitt Romney’s vote to convict President Trump for abuse of power was a surprising move that stunned Capitol Hill.

‘The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the president committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a “high crime and misdemeanor,’ Romney said ahead of the vote. ‘Yes, he did.’
