ACF’s Stance on Dangote Refinery’s Operations

Support has been declared by the Arewa Consultative Forum for the functionality of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Industry amidst arising controversies linked to the facility.

A statement was issued to the press in Kaduna on Monday by the ACF’s National Publicity Secretary, Prof Tukur Muhammad-Baba, expressing worries regarding the negative discussions and debates encircling the top-notch facility which is considered a national asset, as described by the ACF.

During the visit by ACF delegates on July 30th, 2024, they were impressed by the cutting-edge quality control and testing labs of the facility, surpassing global industry norms,” the statement read.

The entrepreneur behind DPRPI, Aliko Dangote, was commended by the forum as a bold, forward-thinking, and patriotic businessperson deserving of accolades and backing.

Additionally, the ACF showed support for the ongoing inquiries conducted by the National Assembly regarding the opposing claims surrounding DPRPI. The forum welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s directive to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to supply crude oil to DPRPI and other refineries.

The ACF urged other entrepreneurs and investors to follow the lead of DPRPI and called upon regulatory bodies to aid in realizing the aspirations of local entrepreneurs investing in Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Furthermore, the ACF encouraged the government of Nigeria and other African nations to stand against any efforts aimed at obstructing their industrialization and societal development rights.

As per the statement, “DPRPI should be seen as a symbol of national pride rather than the negative narratives and misinformation circulated in the media about it.

“Aliko Dangote, the brain behind DPRPI, has consistently shown courage, vision, and patriotism in Nigeria and Africa, deserving recognition and support both locally and internationally.

“The unwarranted criticism of DPRPI and Aliko Dangote creates a negative image for local investors and sends the wrong message to foreign investors.

“It is concerning to see certain oil-related public and business entities contributing to the dissemination of misinformation about DPRPI.

“The Nigerian government and other African nations should leverage their diplomatic influence to oppose any attempts to undermine industrialization and societal advancement, steering clear of the underdevelopment that has plagued us for centuries.”
