Abuja school taking action against students involved in bullying incident caught on viral video


As per the recent announcement by Abraham Ogunkanmbi, the Head of School at LBI Abuja, The Lead British International, LBI, Abuja, is set to implement disciplinary measures against students who were captured in a viral video displaying bullying behavior towards a fellow student.

The circulating video depicting a female student being harassed by her peers within the school premises sparked widespread outrage among the Nigerian community.

In response to this, Ogunkanmbi mentioned that the school has extended support to the victim and her family, offering counseling services to help them handle the emotional and psychological aftermath of the incident.

Furthermore, he stated, “Our approach will involve working closely with the students involved and their families by providing guidance and applying appropriate disciplinary actions to address their unacceptable conduct, which goes against societal norms.”

An immediate investigation has also been initiated, with a dedicated team assigned to meticulously look into the matter. This investigative team is actively gathering information, such as reviewing video evidence and conducting witness interviews, to ascertain the complete details of the event and determine both the proximate and underlying causes.
