About Man Utd’s interest in Olise

The pursuit of Michael Olise, a player from Crystal Palace, by Manchester United, was recently discussed by transfer market expert David Ornstein.

Olise is being considered by the Red Devils as a potential replacement for Antony, the Brazilian international.

Having outperformed all of Manchester United’s forwards with 15 goal involvements in the league, Olise has attracted the attention of co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, who is eager to bring the 22-year-old to Old Trafford.

Speculation arose due to Olise’s agent, Glen Tweneboah, being banned by the English FA, raising questions about how this ban might affect Olise’s potential transfer in the summer.

Ornstein clarified that the agent’s ban, scheduled to start in October, will not obstruct the transfer process.

However, Ornstein mentioned that there have been no formal discussions between Crystal Palace and interested parties like Manchester United.

In a Q&A session with The Athletic, as reported by CaughtOffside, Ornstein mentioned, “There’s significant interest in Olise – even from Manchester United.” This interest implies that a transfer could be a possibility.

He further added, “The ban imposed on his agent will not be a hindrance as it only starts in October. Nevertheless, there have been no concrete negotiations or progress between potential buyers and Crystal Palace to date, and it’s not certain that the move will happen, as we saw last summer with Chelsea.”

Olise is known to be someone who makes decisions carefully and will not leave unless it is mutually beneficial for him and Palace.

It’s widely known that there is a release clause speculated to be around £60m, which could facilitate his departure. However, it’s a complex process, and simply paying the fee may not be enough to secure his transfer.
