Meet Zang Luka, the CEO of Zang Technologies Limited, who is the featured personality in this week’s episode of First Class Materials.
Luka, a young man from Plateau State in Nigeria, has developed a foot mouse that enables individuals without hands to operate the computer using their feet.
Additionally, he has produced a locally made power bank using electronic waste and a sand sieving machine that allows builders to sieve wet and dry sand easily in a shorter time.

Luka was inspired to become an innovator after observing that Nigerians import products but hardly manufacture anything.
He aimed to produce made-in-Nigeria products that can compete globally.
His inspiration for the foot mouse came from wondering how people whose arms have been amputated operate the computer. The purpose of his creation is to enable upper limb amputees to function properly in corporate organizations.
He further explained in this episode how the foot mouse is used.
The mouse has a slipper on one side that the user slips one foot into, allowing control of the mouse pointer. The other side of the mouse is for the second foot, enabling the user to either “right click” or left click.
Luka’s innovations have won him several awards, including the Best Technological Innovation of the year awarded by the Federal Government of Nigeria and The Future Awards under the category of technology.
