A Call for Caution: APC Chieftain Appeals to Nigerians, Warning of Potential Negative Consequences of Protests

Expressing concerns over the impact of the planned nationwide protests, Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, a prominent figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has stressed that such demonstrations could have adverse effects on the economy and various aspects of daily life.

In a statement released on his behalf by his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, Mumuni urged for dialogue and peaceful resolution to address the issues at hand. The planned protest, scheduled for August 1, revolves around the scarcity of essential commodities.

According to Mumuni, all parties involved should prioritize dialogue as the primary means of resolving grievances, emphasizing the need for adherence to the country’s laws during protests.

He highlighted the potential repercussions of the protests, citing possible disruptions to the economy and social structures, as well as the risk of violence and property damage. Mumuni referenced the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest as a reminder of the lasting impact such events can have on society.

Cautioning against potential clashes between protesters and security forces or opposing groups, Mumuni made a heartfelt appeal to reconsider the protest plans, underscoring that Nigeria is the only home for its citizens.
