A boost in electricity for more than 10,000 customers in Ogun by IBEDC

An upgrade of the electricity infrastructure in the Sango/Ota area of Ogun State, Nigeria has been completed by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc, as announced by the company’s spokesperson, Busolami Tunwase, to PUNCH Online on Wednesday. This enhancement is expected to greatly enhance the reliability of power supply for customers in the region.

One of the key improvements involves the successful migration of the SANGO 33KV feeder to a more robust T3 100MVA, 132KV/33KV transformer at the Ota Transmission Station. Additionally, a new dedicated ROTOCROWN 33KV feeder has been introduced by IBEDC.

The aim of these enhancements is to address the growing electricity needs and ensure top-quality service for more than 10,241 IBEDC customers, according to the statement by the company.

IBEDC stated that the upgraded transformers at the Ota Transmission Station now support three essential feeders: ROTOCROWN 33KV, TOWER ALLOY 33KV, and SANGO 33KV.

The company highlighted that these upgrades will help IBEDC meet the increasing energy demands in the region and ensure a stable electricity supply for various communities. Notably, residents of Alishiba, Ilogbo, Bayo Block, Animashaun, and Ewupe will benefit from the enhanced Sango 33KV feeder.

IBEDC revealed that these enhancements are anticipated to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses in these areas by providing a more consistent and reliable electricity supply.

According to the statement, the Acting Managing Director of IBEDC, Francis Agoha, stressed the company’s commitment to service excellence and infrastructure investment.

Agoha mentioned, “This upgrade showcases our dedication to improving the electricity infrastructure in our operational areas.

“The enhanced transformer capacity at the Ota Transmission Station will allow us to meet the growing electricity demands and deliver a more stable and reliable power supply to our Sango/Ota customers,” Agoha added.

“These recent upgrades are part of a broader strategy to modernize the power distribution network and enhance overall customer satisfaction. The continuous investment in infrastructure ensures IBEDC can keep providing top-quality electricity services to its customers,” the statement concluded.
