Manchester United’s Mejbri set to join Burnley following approval from Ten Hag

Confirmation has been given by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for Hannibal Mejbri’s transfer to Burnley.

Mejbri is expected to make a move to the recently-relegated team on a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.

Ten Hag has decided that the Tunisian international is no longer needed in his squad.

The midfielder, who was signed from Monaco in a deal potentially worth £9 million back in 2019, managed to secure 13 first-team appearances after breaking into the team under Ralf Rangnick.

Hannibal spent the last season on loan at Birmingham City and later at Spanish club Sevilla.

In 2022, the 21-year-old made headlines for getting involved in a training ground altercation.

Following a disappointing 4-0 loss to Brighton, then-coach Ralf Rangnick had to cut short a training session due to an incident between Mejbri and his teammate Alex Telles.
