Brigadier General Buba Marwa: Unity and Patriotism for Nigeria’s Progress

Emphasizing the significance of unity and patriotism in achieving Nigeria’s greatness, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (retd.), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, delivered a keynote address at the 40th anniversary and reunion of the Nigeria Military School 1984 set and 32nd Passing Out Platoon Association in Abuja.

The theme of the event, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, is “Leveraging on Nigeria’s diversity for inclusive Nation Building: Pathway to Leadership, stability and Prosperity.”

Congratulating the 1984 set on their achievements, Marwa commended the quality of training provided by the NMS, attributing their success to it.

Marwa highlighted the NMS as a microcosm of Nigeria, instilling brotherhood, unity, and patriotism in its students.

Expressing concern over challenges like ethnic and religious divisions, Marwa urged Nigerians to uphold a united front for the country.

In reflecting on Nigeria’s unity, Marwa stressed the collective strength found in diversity and the historical unity of the nation.

Calling on NMS alumni to exemplify the institution’s values of discipline, knowledge, and patriotism, Marwa emphasized the role of leadership and vision in overcoming challenges and achieving national greatness.

Encouraging alumni to be positive influencers and leaders in their communities, Marwa expressed optimism in Nigeria’s capacity to succeed through unity and commitment to progress.

Dr. Augustine Benni, President of NMS 84/32 POP, praised Marwa for attending the anniversary celebration, lauding his leadership qualities as embodiments of discipline and patriotism.

Highlighting the importance of discipline in leadership, Benni emphasized the association’s commitment to finding solutions to national challenges encapsulated in the event’s theme.
