Shocking Incident: Ogun INEC REC, Olaniyi Ijalaye, Collapses in Abuja

Reports have emerged that Niyi Ijalaye, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ogun State, collapsed in Abuja on Monday evening.

An undisclosed source revealed that Ijalaye allegedly slumped right after a meeting held at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The source mentioned that Ijalaye seemed in high spirits during the meeting, but later collapsed upon returning to his room at the Bon Octagon Hotel in the Federal Capital Territory.

As of now, the condition of Ijalaye remains uncertain.

The meeting, led by INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, primarily addressed the off-cycle elections in Edo and Ondo States.

Hailing from Ondo State, Ijalaye assumed the role of Ogun State REC in March 2022 after his predecessor, Olusegun Agbaje, was transferred to Lagos State.
