Labour Party Leads in Bauchi LG Election with No Candidate Fielded

In the recent Bogoro councillorship election in Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area, the Labour Party in Bauchi State succeeded in garnering the highest number of votes despite not having a candidate on the ballot.

As a result, the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission, BSIEC, proclaimed Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who secured the second position, as the victorious candidate and the newly elected councillor representing Lusa B Ward.

The results were announced by the returning officer, Daniel Gambo, at the collation center in Bogoro. The Labour Party, although without a candidate, amassed 2,200 votes while PDP’s Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf closely followed with 2,168 votes.

In the election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mbam Masoyi, secured the third position with 275 votes.
