Benue Governor Issues Directives to Security Forces to Rescue Abducted Medical Students

In an effort to secure the safe release of 20 abducted medical students in Benue State, Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has instructed the state’s security agencies to escalate their rescue operations.

A statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, strongly condemned the abduction of students from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos.

The students were kidnapped by armed individuals on the Otukpo-Enugu highway while en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students Annual Convention in Enugu State on Thursday evening.

The governor has warned criminals operating in the state to cease their activities, as his administration is determined to eradicate all forms of criminal behavior within the state.
