John Mikel Obi, the ex-captain of the Super Eagles, has foreseen Chelsea landing in seventh place in the current Premier League season.
In the previous term, the Blues secured the sixth position under Mauricio Pochettino’s management.
Subsequently, Pochettino has been succeeded by Enzo Maresca.
During an interview with beIN Sports, Mikel Obi expressed his skepticism about Chelsea’s performance.
He stated: “I have consistently predicted that Chelsea will secure the seventh spot in the Premier League this season due to my doubts about their ability to win numerous games.
“I believe this season will be arduous, and I am curious to witness how Enzo Maresca will navigate through challenging times.
“I do not think he has encountered such circumstances previously, and this will be a true test for him.”
