Low Voter Turnout Recorded in Bauchi Local Government Poll

The Bauchi State local government election currently ongoing is experiencing a significant decrease in voter participation.

According to PUNCH Online, unlike the 2023 general elections where polling units were crowded with voters, the local government election is characterized by low turnout.

Reports indicate that as voting concludes in some areas, results for ward councillors are beginning to emerge.

“After casting my vote, I learned that the councillor’s results would be announced at a specific location, so I went there. The returning officer, Muhammad Saleh, announced the results,” a voter shared.

“I was informed that the election results for the chairmanship position will also be declared shortly,” added another source.
