Gudu LG Urged to Support Government’s Efforts in Combating Banditry by Gov Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State

In a plea to the residents of Gudu Local Government Area, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has encouraged them to assist the authorities with essential information, particularly in intelligence gathering, to overcome the armed bandits causing turmoil in the region.

During a thank-you visit where the community came out in large numbers to welcome him, the Governor emphasized on Friday that securing the area is a shared responsibility that requires the collective effort of all.

Addressing the people of Gudu, he said, “I urge the people of Gudu to cooperate with us, provide relevant information to the security agencies in order to tackle the banditry issues affecting us.”

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state. He also pledged to renovate the deteriorating Balle General Hospital.

He revealed that immediate steps have been taken to renovate the Balle health facility to ensure continued access to its services for the people.

Furthermore, the Governor disclosed that he has sanctioned the installation of 250 powered street lights throughout the Gudu Local Government Area. He assured that contracts have been awarded for the renovation of the Tangaza to Gudu Road to improve accessibility for various communities residing along the route.

Senator Aliyu Wamakko, in his address, urged the locals to continue supporting the APC to benefit more from the dividends of democracy.

He praised Governor Aliyu’s leadership style, attributing it to the significant transformation of the state.

The Sole Administrator of Gudu Local Government, Umar Mai-Kano Balle, earlier commended Gov. Aliyu for prioritizing security in the area.

He expressed gratitude for the Governor’s special attention whenever security issues are raised, assuring continuous support from the people at all times.
