Arrest Warrant Issued for Venerable Oke Olarewaju in Ekiti State

Venerable Oke Olarewaju, a cleric from All Saints Anglican Church in Off Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti, has been ordered to be arrested by the Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti. This comes after he failed to appear in court to defend himself against alleged criminal offenses, resulting in a charge brought by the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice.

The charges against Venerable Oke Olarewaju include two counts of disregarding a lawful order issued by the Ekiti State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. This order was aimed at addressing offensive odors and disturbances caused by the operation of an unauthorized poultry farm within a residential area.

It is alleged that the activities of Venerable Oke Olarewaju’s poultry farm have led to noise pollution and unpleasant odors, creating discomfort for the residents and posing a threat to public health in the vicinity.

According to the charge, the cleric is accused of violating Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, by his actions.

Following arguments presented by the complainant’s legal representative, the presiding magistrate, Afunso Saka, has ordered the immediate arrest of Venerable Oke Olarewaju. He is required to appear in court on the 20th of this month for the next hearing on this matter.
