Promise from Sokoto Governor to Reconnect Local Government to National Grid

Assurances have been made by the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, to the residents of Tangaza Local Government Area that his administration will soon restore the area’s connection to the national grid.

During a visit to the area as part of his tour of the 23 local government areas, the governor made this commitment on Friday.

He emphasized that one of his top priorities is to reconnect areas that have been without electricity for an extended period.

He mentioned, “Currently, we are in the process of reconnecting the eight local government areas of Sokoto East Senatorial Zone that have been devoid of electricity for the past eight years.”

“So far, Rabah, Wurno, Gwadabawa, and Goronyo have already been reconnected, with work ongoing smoothly in Isa, Sabon Birni, Illela, and Gada which will be completed soon.”

The cost of the project, as stated by the governor, is approximately N1.2 billion.

Additionally, during the visit to Binji Local Government Area, the governor pledged to address the requests for road projects in various parts of the local government area.

Aliyu Wamakko, the All Progressives Congress leader in the state, praised the governor’s achievements and urged him to maintain the momentum.

He appealed for increased support for the current administration at both federal and state levels to facilitate the execution of more developmental projects.

Other speakers at the thank-you visit to Tangaza and Binji included the former Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Chiso Dattijo, State APC Chairman, Isah Achida, Chairman APC Elders Committee Aminu Tafida, as well as other notable politicians in the visited local governments.
