Tragic Incident: Immigration Officer Murdered in Niger due to Land Dispute

In Niger State, a disturbing incident transpired as an Immigration officer, Isah Mohammed, lost his life amidst a land dispute involving two local communities.

The unfortunate demise occurred on the farmland of Mohammed, who hailed from the Zhitsu Babi area in the Doko community, amidst the ongoing land feud between the Doko and Kupafu communities situated in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger.

The unsettling event transpired on a fateful Wednesday when the victim visited his farmland and encountered a group of miscreants suspected to belong to the opposing community, initiating the fatal attack in the context of the land dispute.

The enduring land conflict between these two communities has endured for years without amicable redress from either the traditional authorities or law enforcement bodies.

Confirming the harrowing incident, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, verified that the victim was swiftly taken to Umaru Sanda General Hospital in Bida, where his unfortunate demise was officially pronounced.
